RT66YellowComet: Hello!

I'm new here, wanted to introduce myself, say hello, and tell you thank you for this wonderful site. I'm interested in uploading some pics, and I noticed on the comments below that John was wanting to upload some as well, and was told to give it a try though the system may not be working yet. I just tried it as well, but I don't think it's working on my end. Wanted to let you know. Anyway, my name is Shannon, been interested in Route 66 since I was 16, have been recently FINALLY been having Route 66 adventures of my own, in hopes of a thru-trip in the near future....or....as far as I can get anyway. Low income here so may have to stick with doing sections at a time as I've been doing. My father hitchhiked Route 66 from CA to MO in the 50's when he was coming home from the Air Force. Unfortunately, he took no pictures. Anyway, thanks again, take care and God Bless.

Msdkay49: Red's Giant Hamburg

Red's was always a favorite along Route 66. Do you ever have information concerning Sheldon and Julia Chaney, who owned it? Unfortunately, it has been torn down, but every day I drive by and remember all the wonderful memories I have of working for them my senior year in high school.

cruusn: Red Cedar Inn - Pacific, MO

I'm told by friends in Pacific that the Red Cedar Inn has a new owner who is repaving the lot, replacing the roof, upgrading the electricity and plumbing, etc. and will reopen the historic building as a used car lot.

Not the restaurant and bar reopening we all hoped for but at least the building will be left standing.
