A Chronicle of Historic Preservation Efforts on Route 66, "The Main Street of America"

This web site was begun to spread news about an endangered tourist court called John's Modern Cabins, the ruins of which are located alongside Interstate 44 in Newburg, Missouri. I have since expanded the site in an attempt to document and encourage preservation efforts all along Historic Route 66. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! Landmarks that for one reason or another may be in danger. Things you can do right now to contribute to preservation efforts on Historic Route 66. Why bother to preserve historic landmarks? Read thoughts and reflections on the benefits and impact of historic preservation. Links to places to send press releases, post events, get links, anything to help you get the word out about your preservation project. One of the best ways to preserve the heritage of Route 66 for the future is to patronize the businesses that are still in existence. Links to preservation groups, information about landmarks, culture, and history.
