FUN IN THE SUN FOR EVERYONE ON ROUTE 66
Be sure to keep your calendar open July 15th thru July 18th and plan to attend the 63rd Annual Crawford County Fair
The Crawford County Fair Board would like to welcome you to the 2009 Crawford County Fair to be held July 15th thru July 18th at Hood Park in Cuba, Missouri. Celebrating our 63rd year, the members of the Crawford County Fair Board strive to provide the community with family oriented entertainment at the lowest possible price. While many of the surrounding fairs have opted to raise their prices this year, our season passes will remain the same low price of $20, with children ten and under admitted free. Carnival arm band tickets are honored all four night so kids (and adults) can ride all night long for the low price of $12.
The fair will open with the annual Parade on Wednesday July 15 beginning at 6PM from Britton's Funeral Home and traveling down Historic Route 66 to Rutz Road. After the parade, plan on coming to Hood Park for an evening filled with a diverse variety of entertainment. On the main stage we will have members of the Warrior Scholar Kenpo Karate School giving a demonstration followed by the Queen Talent Contest. The arena event for Wednesday evening is the ever popular CRAWFORD COUNTY FAIR CHAMPIONSHIP BULL RIDING, with riders coming from all over the country to participate.
Thursday brings the completion of the Bull Riding event in the arena, along with the Baby Contest, Prince and Princess Contest and Queen Contest all on the main stage beginning at 5:30pm. Thursday morning is the judging of market hogs, pee wee piggy and open hog class, dairy goats and sheep are also judged that afternoon. Plan to stop by the exhibit hall for the flower show and also to see the entries in a variety of other departments. The 7TH ANNUAL HORSE AND PONY SHOW will take place in the Ed Mitchell Arena beginning at 5pm. This is a show well worth watching.
Plan to get there early Friday to see the poultry and rabbit shows beginning at 9am. Beef, dairy, bucket calf and market steer shows run all afternoon starting at 1pm with awards following at approximately 5:30pm. The Crawford County Fair is proud to support our local 4H and FFA members. They work hard all year long to get ready for these shows. Friday evening brings ALDERWOOD to the main stage at 7pm and the TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULLS to the arena. The tractor pull competition begins at 5pm with the peddle tractor pull and the Classic and Antique Tractor Show, continuing through the evening as the "big boys" come to the arena to see just how far they can pull that sled.
Saturday morning at 9am the History of Logging comes to life with the ANNUAL LOGGING RODEO. Watch seasoned loggers compete in a variety of events. New this year is the ROUTE 66 BBQ CHALLENGE. Come watch the excitement as BBQ specialist from all over the state compete for the title of the Route 66 BBQ Grand Champion. The livestock auction begins at 1pm. Serious bidding is definitely on the agenda for this auction as 4H and FFA member sell their livestock. Get ready for some crash and burn fun as Auto Race Promotions comes to our arena with a DUAL DEMOLITION DERBY beginning at 7pm. Main stage entertainment starts at 7pm with Nex-Ta-Kin opening for CRAIG MORGAN who brings songs like "Redneck Yacht Club" and "International Harvester" to our venue.
