Texas Route 66 Cruise
This year marks the 81st Anniversary of America's most famous highway - Historic Route 66. In celebration, the Old Route 66 Association of Texas has organized a cruise across RT 66 in Texas. The cruise will be completed, and prizes awarded, at the 2007 National Route 66 Festival to be held in Clinton, Oklahoma, June 21-24. This annual festival, held in a different RT 66 city each year, is greatly anticipated by Route 66 enthusiasts from around the world.
The Texas cruise is intended to enhance the travelers' experience, entice them to visit each 66 town across the Panhandle, shop at local businesses and encourage everyone to tour the Route. The cruise is simple, fun and can be done at the cruisers' own pace (with any type vehicle or motorcycle) anytime between June 1st and June 22nd.
